Sinai Arch

Multinational Force & Observers, Memorial Cenotaph

2000

Approximate size: 10' x 8' x 3'

The Multinational Force & Observers (MFO) is an eleven-nation peacekeeping force, created by the Camp David Accords, and located in the Sinai Desert, Egypt. Its members observe and report any infractions in the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.

This arch, located at El Gorah in the northern Sinai, is part of a memorial to the 306 soldiers from many nations who have died while serving in the MFO. A companion sculpture is located at MFO's South Camp. I created both in Lansing for shipment to Egypt.
